A previous charity of the month at Bucks Radio - Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, have received a £550,000 donation from the Pets at Home Group.
It's the biggest donation the Bucks based charity has received from a corporate partner in its 40-year history.
It comes following a mega month of fundraising in July from Pets at Home customers and colleagues nationwide, which included till-point donations, money raised through special charity summer spa packages, and a sponsored 100-mile cycle from a team of colleagues.
Saunderton-based Hearing Dogs for Deaf People will use to money to train and provide dogs to support deaf people across the county and beyond, helping them to leave loneliness behind and reconnect with life. The highly skilled dogs alert deaf people to important sounds such as the fire alarm, alarm clocks and intruder alarms, and provide love, companionship, and emotional support.
David Robson, Head of Marketing for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, said:
"We're incredibly grateful to the Pets at Home Foundation for their amazing support. For 40 years we have been training hearing dogs to be partnered with those who need their remarkable skills most. This donation will allow us to continue growing those vital partnerships and
help many more people for years to come."
