Residents at Pearl Court on Croft Road in Aylesbury, have finally received a replacement for their broken recycling wheelie bin after Bucks Radio stepped in to help.
The original bin was reportedly damaged by Buckinghamshire Council refuse officers, who left it in a car park space after one of its wheels broke. For the past few weeks, residents have been left without a dedicated recycling bin and were forced to dispose of recyclable materials in general waste bins.
After Bucks Radio contacted Buckinghamshire Council on Tuesday 15th July, the issue has now been resolved.
Carl Jackson, Cabinet Member for Environment, Climate Change and Waste, told us:
“We apologise to Pearl Court residents for the delay in replacing the broken bin and for any disruption this has caused. The Council will deliver a new bin to Pearl Court tomorrow (Wednesday 16th July).”
The replacement bin was delivered as promised at 7:30am on Wednesday, 16th July. However, residents remain frustrated that it took several weeks and a call to Bucks Radio to resolve what they consider a straightforward issue.
