The next stage of the government's roadmap out of lockdown is a big moment, says Town Centre Manager Diana Fawcett.
With business allowed to serve food and drink inside from today (May 17th), and indoor entertainment venues able to begin re-opening, Diana has told us it's an important step on the road to recovery.
"We're delighted we can finally re-open the doors for our food and beverage outlets. Many of them have been trading in town in outside spaces, but now they can actually have people inside, so it's a great step forward for the town"
She also told us that there's lots being set up to encourage people back into the town;
"We've got street entertainment planned on various different days. We've also got speciality markets lined up, including a vegan one, and have children's events during the summer school holidays. So there's lots of things to tempt people back into town"
It's also important to remember that despite the easing of restrictions, new guidance on meeting family and friends will emphasise personal responsibility rather than government rules. For the very latest on what you, and can't do, click here
