Appeal for witnesses following assault in Bourne End

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Bourne End.

Four masked men attacked a man in his twenties inside an address in a block of flats in Station Road at around 10.45pm on Monday (2/10).

The victim suffered several serious cuts believed to have been caused by a knife or bladed weapon. He was taken to hospital for further treatment, where he remains. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

One of the offenders is described as white with a thin, chiselled face and a short goatee beard.

Detective Sergeant Jo Lynch said: “I understand this assault may cause some concern but there is nothing to suggest that there is any risk to the wider public.

“We are asking anyone who may have witnessed anything related to the assault to please come forward.

"We are also asking anyone who lives in the area who has a CCTV camera, or anyone with a dashcam who was driving in the area to please check their recordings and get in touch if it shows anything that may be of use for our investigation.

“Anyone with information or footage should call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43230443135.

“Alternatively, you can provide information anonymously to the independent charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.”
