The UK's biggest animal welfare charity says it's seen a 25 percent increase in the number of reports of pet neglect.
The R-S-P-C-A received more than 48-thousand complaints between January and September - compared with over 38-thousand for the same period last year.
In Buckinghamshire 460 incidents of animal neglect were reported from January to September this year - which is a 3% increase from the same period the previous year.
The distressing new statistics - which are broken down for each county - have been released as part of the charity's campaign Join the Christmas Rescue, which aims to support frontline staff as they continue their life-saving work during the busy festive period.
