29% of people in Buckinghamshire report feeling lonely often, always, or some of the time, it can be revealed for the first time, ahead of National Loneliness Week.
In Buckinghamshire, 9% of people have zero close friends, The Belonging Forum has also revealed today, thanks to a new county-level analysis of the multilevel regression with poststratification (MRP) research, which saw 10,000 people surveyed.
Within Buckinghamshire, Wycombe has the lowest level of life satisfaction (19% reported never or sometimes).
Milton Keynes Central residents are the loneliest in the county (31%) and feel the least connection to their neighbourhood/street (46%).
Meanwhile, residents of Chesham and Amersham have the highest levels of life satisfaction, feel they know their neighbours best, have the strongest connection to their neighbourhood/street and local area as well as the UK in the region.
They also feel best represented by their local councillors (27%) compared to other constituencies in the county.
Those living in rented homes stood out in the data as feeling more lonely, unsafe, and unconnected to their local area. A shocking 40% of people in private rented accommodation reported feeling lonely, compared to 29% of the general population.
Young women are some of the most likely to feel unsatisfied with their lives and socially isolated, with 51% of those 18-24 reporting feeling lonely more compared to 29% of the general population.
