The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice affecting Aylesbury and wider Buckinghamshire on January 2nd from midnight to midday.
The warning highlights a risk of travel disruption as snow and icy conditions may develop overnight and persist into Friday morning. While the overall impact is expected to be low, the likelihood of disruption is considered medium.
We’re being advised to take extra care if heading out, as untreated roads and pavements could become slippery. Public transport services may also see some minor delays, especially on rural routes and higher ground.
We're encouraged to:
-
Allow extra time for journeys
-
Check travel conditions before setting out
-
Dress appropriately for cold and icy conditions
The Met Office recommends staying up to date with the latest forecasts and warnings, as weather conditions can change quickly.
We’ll have the latest on any travel disruptions on Bucks Radio and you can see the latest travel here.
