Thames Water say the issue which left many homes and businesses without water on Sunday has now been resolved, although there may still be a loss of pressure while testing is completed.
In an update posted on Monday morning, the company said:
Sorry if your water wasn't flowing as normal this morning. We’re working to fix a burst water pipe in Ambleside, which has affected customers in HP19, HP20, HP21 & HP22.
The repair is complete. At the moment, we are doing testing to ensure that the water remains of the highest quality for consumption.
In the meantime, we have rerouted water from other areas of the network to keep water flowing through your taps.
We know how disruptive it is if you lose your water supply, and we’ll work hard to get things back to normal quickly as possible. We've managed to stem the flow of water from the broken pipe and have diverted water around our network of pipes. Your water supply should now have returned. The pressure may be lower than normal at first, but this will continue to improve throughout this afternoon return to normal once we've completed fixing the broken pipe.
If you or someone you know could use a bit of extra help, especially during incidents like this, our free Priority Services Register is here to make sure we understand and support your needs. We’re here if you need any advice after an incident. If your supply still isn’t back to normal, we’re here to help. Please let us know.
We'll provide a further update for you by 16:00 PM.
