Two men sentenced for drug supply and driving offences in Aylesbury

Two men have been sentenced following separate Thames Valley Police investigations into drug offences in the town.

At Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday 15 May, 22-year-old Isa Jakupi, of Redcliffe Walk, Aylesbury, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class A drug (cocaine), possession of criminal property, driving without third party insurance, and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

He was sentenced to two years and three months in prison and disqualified from driving for six months, with three penalty points endorsed on his licence.

The court heard that on 23 March this year, officers from the Aylesbury Proactive Team stopped a silver Ford Fiesta after witnessing a suspected drug deal on Penn Road. Police say Jakupi (pictured below) attempted to reverse and flee the scene before being detained.

Following a search of the vehicle and driver, officers recovered 35 bags of cocaine, which were seized. He was charged the following day.

In a separate case at the same court, 38-year-old Nathan Henry, of Churchill Avenue, Aylesbury, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (MDMA), possession of cocaine and cannabis, and possession of criminal property.

He was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.

On 2 March this year, Henry (pictured below) was arrested after officers were deployed in relation to suspected drug supply activity. A search of his home resulted in the seizure of 403g of MDMA, 36g of cannabis, 2g of cocaine, and £6,020 in cash.

Investigating officers said the outcome reflects ongoing efforts to target drug supply in the area and the importance of intelligence from the public.

PC Burridge of the Aylesbury Stronghold Team said:
“Drug dealing brings harm and exploitation to our communities, and we will continue to take robust action against those involved.”

Anyone with information about drug-related activity is encouraged to contact police on 101 or submit a report via the Thames Valley Police website.
