New Padel courts are being built in Holmer Green's unused tennis courts.
The Holmer Green Padel Club is having its grand opening on Saturday 6th November, and offering open day sessions to discover the game.
You may be wondering what Padel is, it takes inspiration from tennis, but with some big differences.
Neil Percival, who is Director of UK Padel explained it further to Bucks Radio:
"The Padel court itself is about 25% smaller than a tennis court, it does has the same scoring as tennis, played as best of three sets.
One of the biggest barriers to tennis is the over arm serve, and in Padel the service is underarm, [making the game slower if necessary] so people can walk on court.
Padel is also particularly social as its always played in doubles! Where there is a major difference from tennis, Padel is not about power, it's about control, which makes it particularly fun, and one of the best games for all ages and standers to mix together.
There really isn't an easier racket sport to pick up than Padel."
Neil decided to chose Bucks as a location for Padel due to the keen interest in racket sports the county already has, and hopes they can convert a few, as well as people who may never played any sport before, to join in and fall in love with Padel.
