David and his family will be popping down to Windsor Castle later today, (23/04/24) with either The Prince of Wales or the Princess Royal carrying out the investiture ceremony.
Dave has been a volunteer with Stoke Mandeville Hospital since 2014. He provides pastoral care to patients and staff. This includes conducting funerals for babies, Remembrance Day services, and providing chaplaincy support and services at weekends and out of hours.
As a Roman Catholic Eucharistic minister, Dave also regularly takes Communion to staff and to patients.
Dave says: “I am extremely honoured to have been recognised in this way. I enjoy my role as a volunteer honorary chaplain in the Trust and hope I can bring solace, a sense of peace and hope to all those I meet and those who need pastoral support at very challenging times.”
