Police have arrested a suspect following a serious assault at Centre MK in Milton Keynes yesterday (28/02/26), prompting the temporary closure of the shopping centre.
In a statement issued yesterday evening, Thames Valley Police confirmed officers were called to the scene after reports of a serious assault. Emergency services quickly attended the incident, and a suspect has since been taken into custody.
Officers remain at the shopping centre while enquiries continue, with a cordon in place around the affected area. The centre has confirmed it will remain closed today (Sunday) as investigations proceed.
Thames Valley Police reassured the public that an arrest has been made but acknowledged that the incident may cause concern within the community.
Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the assault, or who may have mobile phone footage or other information, to come forward. Members of the public are asked to call 101 and quote reference INC 20260228 1537, or submit information via the Thames Valley Police website.
Shoppers and local residents with concerns are encouraged to speak with officers currently stationed at the scene.
Centre MK management said they are working closely with Thames Valley Police and expressed their thoughts with the family and friends of those affected. They thanked the public for their patience and understanding while the investigation continues.
