A Buckinghamshire charity supporting young carers has received a £2,000 boost thanks to fundraising efforts by the Rotary Club of Aylesbury Hundreds.
The cheque was presented on Wednesday, June 3, by Rotary Club President Ann Routledge to representatives from Bucks Young Carers, part of Carers Bucks, at a presentation in Aylesbury.
The money was raised through a series of community events organised by the Rotary Club over the past year, including Rotary Rocks at the Limelight Theatre, a Ceilidh evening and a Croquet and Cream Tea event.
Representatives from Bucks Young Carers thanked the club for the donation and explained that the funds will help send 14 young carers, accompanied by three adult supporters, to the UK's largest annual Young Carers Festival in Southampton at the end of June 2026.
The Rotary Club of Aylesbury Hundreds is made up of members from Aylesbury and surrounding villages. The club supports charities and community organisations through both financial assistance and practical help, with projects benefiting local, national and international causes.
Carers Bucks has supported unpaid carers across Buckinghamshire for more than 20 years, providing advice, guidance and practical assistance to thousands of people caring for family members and loved ones.

The donation comes at a time of change for the organisation. Buckinghamshire Council has confirmed that, subject to the completion of contractual processes, private company Mobilise Ltd will become the new provider of commissioned carers services in the county from July 1.
Carers Bucks says it will work closely with Mobilise to ensure a smooth transition, with existing employees and volunteers transferring to the new provider to help maintain continuity of support for carers.
Despite the changes, Carers Bucks says it remains committed to supporting carers and is proud of the legacy it leaves after more than two decades of service. The organisation's board is expected to outline its future plans and how it will continue making an impact for carers in Buckinghamshire beyond June 30.
The Rotary Club's donation will help provide a memorable experience for young carers, giving them the opportunity to meet others facing similar challenges, take part in activities and enjoy a break from their caring responsibilities.
