Councillor Caroline Cornell has released an update about the parking charging arrangements in Winslow.
"Buckinghamshire Council agreed a new parking strategy last year which can be viewed here (external link)
The strategy includes a clear commitment from the Council to provide the option for Town and Parish Councils to fund free parking and this arrangement is in place, and is proving to be a success, with a number of Town and Parish Councils.
A formal consultation regarding changes to parking arrangements also took place last year (between 25.1.24 and 18.2.24) and this included proposals to introduce charges at Greyhound Lane Car Park following the decision by Winslow Town Council to cease funding any free parking provision for this car park.
Winslow Town Council have made a separate request for the introduction of a free parking scheme for Market Square Car Park which will be funded by the Town Council in line with the established arrangements. This scheme will include one hour free parking on Mondays (except bank holidays), Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (noting Wednesday is market day) and all day free parking on Sundays.
In order to prevent any confusion for car park users and to ensure a smooth transition, the new charging arrangements for both Greyhound Lane Car Park and the free parking scheme for Market Square Car Park will be introduced from 1st June 2025."
