A targeted police operation from October to December led to further reductions in offences in the area.
Thames Valley Police’s festively-named ‘Operation Grotto’ led to a 9% reduction in Winter burglary offences in Bucks last year. Using proactive patrols and intelligence-led policing, the operation saw 17 vehicles seized and 23 arrests made, with the force carrying out over 70 targeted patrols between October 27th and December 31st.
The positive results build on similar success from 2024, which saw a 10% reduction in burglaries in the area. The police say that this demonstrates "the continued impact of sustained and focused policing".
Reflecting on the operation's success Detective Inspector Mark Hill, from the Priority Crime Team, added: "we remain committed to tackling burglary, protecting communities and building on the success of Operation Grotto through ongoing patrols and partnership working."
