George Oumounabidji, aged 23, of no fixed abode, was jailed for two years at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday (19/12), after he pleaded guilty to one count of burglary dwelling with intent to steal.
At about 12.15pm on Monday 17th October this year, Oumounabidji looked through windows at a property in Chapel Lane.
He then made entry to the property, but was challenged by the occupant, a man in his sixties.
Having been challenged by the victim, Oumounabidji then fled the scene on foot.
Thames Valley Police arrested and charged Oumounabidji the following day (18/10).
Investigating officer PC Ben Sarl, of the Priority Crime Team, said: “George Oumounabidji observed the house and looked through a number of windows before entering the property with the intent to steal.
“It was only due to the victim’s brave intervention that Oumounabidji fled the scene.
“Burglary has a huge impact on victims, who should feel most safe in their homes. Therefore, I am pleased that Oumounabidji has been brought to justice and has been jailed for two years.”
