Man in eighties punched to floor during street robbery

A man in his eighties has been punched and dragged along the floor in broad daylight as his bag was stolen in High Wycombe on Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 1.30pm on 7th July at Cemetery Lodge, Priory Road in High Wycombe.

The victim’s bag contained cash, a passport, driving license, mobile phone and other bank cards.

The offender ran off towards the Cemetery Lodge, the Priory Road exit.

The offender is described as a white man in his late twenties or early thirties, shorter than 6ft with a slim build. He was wearing a blue long-sleeved top and blue jeans.

The victim received bruising to his chest but did not require hospital treatment.

Investigating officer PC Joseph Openshaw, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “I would like to appeal to anybody who may have been in this area during this time or driving past and witnessed anything, or have dash cam footage, to please get in touch.
