The Light up a Life service will take place in Duke Street Gardens, today (Sunday 27 November) at 4pm. The outdoor service, organised by the Rotary Club of Princes Risborough in aid of Rennie Grove Hospice, will include readings, carols and the switching on of the Christmas tree lights.
Those who have lost a loved one at any time, not just during the past year, can sponsor a light on the Christmas tree ahead of the Light up a Life service. As well as honouring their life, the donation to Rennie Grove will ensure that your loved one’s legacy lives on – by funding vital care needed by people in our community who are living with life-limiting illnesses.
Tracey Hancock, Director of Fundraising at Rennie Grove, says:
“Our Light up a Life campaign is always very popular as it offers an opportunity for remembrance and reflection during what can be a very difficult time of year for people who have lost a loved one.
“I’d like to say thank you to the Rotary Club of Princes Risborough for arranging this event to give local people the opportunity to remember a loved one while raising vital funds to provide care and support for adults and children with life-limiting illnesses.”
Everybody is welcome at the service and tickets are not required.
Lights can be sponsored by visiting renniegrove.org/lual. Everybody who sponsors a light will receive a Rennie Grove Light up a Life card that contains a silver star. This decoration can be personalised with a loved one’s details and displayed around the home during the festive season.
Dedication boards will be used at the Light up a Life service to display names and messages in memory of loved ones. If you have sponsored a light with Rennie Grove and would like to add a name or message to the board, contact David Griggs directly on 01844 345554.
