Work on Wendover Road, Lower Road and King Edward Avenue is set to add time to journeys in Aylesbury, while there's also disruption on the railways at the end of the week.
The closure of Wendover Road, from just past the Bedgrove roundabout to the Hampden Hall development, will be in place from 7pm today (February 13th) to 6am on Monday the 23rd of February, affecting several bus routes, including services 50, 55, 55A & 55B.

Route 50 will operate as normal through Elm Farm and Stoke Grange, before diverting via Bedgrove, Tring Road, New Road and Weston Turville to rejoin the usual route at The Chandos, with the diversion applying in both directions.
Services 55, 55A and 55B will divert via Mandeville Road and Station Road in Stoke Mandeville, unable to serve stops in Elm Farm or along Wendover Road. As an alternative, affected travellers may be able to use Village Connect (external link) for some journeys, depending on start and end points.
There is also a damaged water main on Lower Road, near Asda, and Thames Water are bringing in their specialist crew to repair the problem on Monday 16 February. These works are expected to take place until Wednesday 18 February.
Whilst the pipe is in the verge, they will need to use temporary traffic signals to undertake the works. The Council’s streetworks team will closely monitor the work and seek to keep the use of the signals to a minimum as they will cause delays on an already very busy route.
King Edward Avenue will also be closed from Monday 16th to Friday 20th for carriageway resurfacing.

The disruption to buses on the Wendover Road is also set to clash with London Underground signalling upgrade works, which will mean between Thursday 19th and Sunday the 22nd of February no Chiltern Railways' services will be operating between London Marylebone and Aylesbury Vale Parkway via Amersham.
Rail replacement buses are set to operate across the four days, running from Beaconsfield through Wendover, Stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury and Aylesbury Vale Parkway, connecting with trains to and from London Marylebone at Beaconsfield.
