Bucks' council has pledged to invest £500,000 in flood prevention following a very wet winter and spring.
This additional money will be used for gully cleansing and repairing of roadside drainage.
The council says this will ensure the county is “as protected as possible against future heavy rainfall and flooding”.
The county faced its most severe flooding for a decade this January, causing major disruption for roads and businesses.

Further new ditches and “grips” to remove water from the road will be created.
Damaged drainage systems will also be repaired, so that water can flow more easily.
