To coincide with this week being Dementia Action Week, the Buckingham Community Board are inviting people to help make Buckingham and its surrounding villages into a dementia friendly area.
They are looking for someone who can take a lead role in group meetings and create a plan of how Buckingham can become more accessible and understanding to people with dementia.
They have listed a few responsibilities it would involve:
1. Become a main point of contact for the working group
2. Recruit members to a steering group (where other roles can be shared) or to get involved at some level. Such as: hold a public meeting to stimulate interest, write to your Town or Parish Council asking for support, visiting and speaking with local businesses and organisations
3. Co-ordinate meetings
4. Consult with people with dementia and their carers
5. Draw together the Dementia Friendly Communities Action Plan
