The latest Covid-19 data for Buckinghamshire reveals another sharp rise in the case rate compared to a fortnight ago.
While the UK’s infection rate per 100,000 people is 488.2, Buckinghamshire is now at 609.8, placing it in the top 20% in the country for upper tier local authorities.
The latest weekly data shows 3,336 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bucks.
Sadly, four people have died with Covid-19 on their death certificate in Buckinghamshire in the last week, taking the total for the region to 1,287 since the start of the pandemic.
The county is also still tracking behind the UK when it comes to vaccinations.
77.8% of over-12s are now fully vaccinated in Buckinghamshire compared to 81.1% for the UK as a whole.
186,216 people have now had a Covid-19 booster vaccine in Buckinghamshire.
At least two cases of the new variant of concern, Omicron, have been recorded in Buckinghamshire. An update to this is expected later in the week.
