Strawberries, chicken and yoghurt, what do they all have in common? plastic.
Bucks Council are encouraging residents to recycle our plastic pots tubs and trays, that can be put out kerbside alongside the tin cans and glass bottles.
They have issued some easy steps:
- Remove the plastic film, absorbent pad, top or lid and put these in the general rubbish.
- Give it a quick rinse, you can use leftover washing up water.
- Put in out for recycling on your normal kerbside collection day.
What you can recycle?
All homes in Buckinghamshire can recycle plastic pots, tubs and trays in their recycling bin, alongside the tin cans and glass bottles. It's important we get the right items in the recycling though, so these are the plastic pots, tubs and trays you can recycle at home in Buckinghamshire.
- Clear meat trays
- Clear plastic takeaway trays
- Fruit punnets
- Pots e.g. yoghurt and soup
- Tubs e.g butter/margarine
- Dishwasher tablet and washing capsule tubs
If you are unsure, you can always check the Waste Wizard for everything you can and cannot recycle at home.
