The new Corporate Plan is centred around the theme of building a 'stronger Buckinghamshire together'.
The plan will guide the council's priorities, decisions and investment over the next five years and shape how its services are designed, delivered and improved.
The council say the plan also provides a framework for measuring progress, holding themselves to account and working with partners and communities "to deliver positive change across the county". It is also said to be underpinned by their vision for Buckinghamshire as:
"A great place to live, work and visit - where those who need us most are supported, every resident can learn, work and succeed, our towns and villages are well-planned and connected, and our communities are active, resilient and proud."
The plan is centred around five key priorities:
- Opportunity and aspiration for all – helping residents gain skills, access education, find employment and achieve their ambitions.
- Shaping great places – supporting sustainable growth and ensuring towns and villages remain attractive and well connected.
- Thriving communities – helping communities become healthier, safer and more resilient.
- Supporting the most vulnerable – providing high-quality care and early support for those who need it most.
- Quality and value – delivering efficient, trusted services and making the best use of public money.
Residents will also be able to track the Council's progress through regular public updates and an annual report. In doing so, they council say this will show how they are delivering against their priorities, what has been achieved, and the positive impact the plan is having on people, communities and places across the county.
Councillor Steven Broadbent, Leader of Buckinghamshire Council, added:
"This plan is our commitment to residents and our ambition for Buckinghamshire's future.
"We want Buckinghamshire to continue to grow as a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and feels that they have a stake in the county - whether that's through education, employment, strong communities, quality public services or access to the support they need.
"While we know there will be challenges along the way, we are committed to turning this vision into reality. Working with residents, businesses, partners and community organisations, our focus will be on delivering meaningful improvements that residents can see, feel and benefit from in their daily lives."
