Buckinghamshire Council has opened a public consultation on its draft Local Transport Plan 5 (LTP5), which sets out proposed transport policies and priorities for the county through to 2045.
The plan will guide future transport decision-making, including infrastructure schemes, funding bids and long-term strategy development. It outlines a vision for how people and goods could move around Buckinghamshire over the next 20 years.
What the Plan Covers
The consultation focuses specifically on the transport policies contained within the draft LTP5. These policies would shape future projects and influence how transport services and infrastructure are planned and delivered across the county.
According to the draft document, priorities include making travel around Buckinghamshire easier, safer and more accessible, as well as expanding travel choices.
The Local Transport Plan will be supported by more detailed documents covering specific topics. The first of these — a draft Freight and Logistics Strategy — has been published alongside LTP5 and is included in the consultation. Additional supporting strategies are expected to follow if the plan is approved.
Consultation Details
Residents, businesses and other stakeholders are invited to comment on the draft proposals by completing an online survey.
The consultation closes at 11:59pm on 30 March 2026.
Feedback gathered during the consultation period is expected to inform revisions before a final version of the Local Transport Plan is presented for approval.
