Police investigating a recent spate of thefts from rural areas say they're getting vital information too late.
They say they've been made aware of a suspicious vehicle and its occupants approaching farmers and building sites in the North Marston and Oving areas yesterday morning and are looking out for it.
But because the information about the car has come to them third hand, with sightings being shared on local community Facebook groups rather than to Thames Valley Police directly, it has caused delays in them responding to the reports.
The vehicle spotted yesterday was a blue Toyota Corolla.
The police say if you see the car (or any vehicles) in suspicious circumstances and you believe that a crime is in action or about to be committed, you should call 999.
In a non emergency, call 101 or use the online reporting tool on the Thames Valley Police website.
The police add that it's still ok to share suspicious incidents on community social media groups as this is a great way to make people aware of what is going on. Just make sure you tell the police too.
