There are concerns there could be stranded vehicles on the roads, delayed or cancelled rail and air travel, and power cuts - as the UK plunges into a cold snap this weekend.
Amber weather warnings have been issued - with heavy snow and freezing rain on the way.
Parts of the county including Buckingham are under Amber while areas including Aylesbury are under a yellow warning.
The Met Office says rural communities could be cut off with emergency services expected to be under increased demand.
