A man has been arrested following a number of assaults in High Wycombe.
On Wednesday evening (30/10), we received reports of five separate assaults over a period of an hour across the Dean Close, Conifer Rise and Desborough Road areas of High Wycombe.
One man received GBH level injuries and he remains in hospital. Four others received ABH assault level injuries.
Officers launched an investigation and enquiries were made into the separate reports to gather information as to whether they were linked and enquiries were undertaken to identify the offender. Patrols were also in place in the area.
On Thursday evening (31/10), we received two further reports of assault.
One on the Cressex Industrial estate, where a woman was approached by an offender and was stabbed. Her injuries are not life threatening but she remains in hospital at this time.
The second at a shop in Desborough Road, where a man was assaulted.
Officers attended the scene and found a man aged in his twenties had been detained by members of the public.
The man was arrested in connection with the incidents. He remains in custody at this time.
Detective Chief Inspector Sally Spencer, said: “We have made an arrest in connection with these incidents, which will no doubt will have caused concern in the community.
“I can confirm that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with these incidents and they are not linked to any other reports of disorder in Castlefield.
“Further patrols will continue in the area and we will be working to progress our investigation and we will also be working within the local community to provide reassurance to them.
