Aylesbury’s Aquavale Leisure centre was discussed in Parliament during this morning’s ministerial questions.
Rob Butler, MP for Aylesbury, thanked the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport for the £240,000 funding secured for the town’s swimming pool.
He said: “Aquavale swimming and fitness centre in Aylesbury has a prime location right in the heart of town but I am sorry to say it’s starting to show its age. So, the announcement of £240,000 from this conservative government to improve the facilities is absolutely superb news.”

In response, Stuart Andrew MP, the Parliamentary under-secretary of state for Culture, Media and Sport said: “We know how important pools are for our communities and that’s why we’re providing this funding.”
The funding will be used to install panels to improve energy efficiency, which “will contribute to significant savings, securing that leisure centre to stay fit and healthy for the people of Aylesbury.”

Funding was secured for Aqua Vale as well as the Swan Pool and Leisure Centre as part of the Chancellor’s Spring Budget in March.
