Police are appealing for witnesses after a violent aggravated burglary in Thame.
It happened at around 3.40 yesterday morning on Kingsey Road, when three offenders wearing balaclavas forced entry into a property. They were armed with two machetes and a metal pole.
The burglars stole jewellery worth around one-hundred and twenty thousand pounds.
A man in his seventies was assaulted during the break-in and suffered minor injuries. He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
Detectives say the incident was both violent and distressing for the victims, who were targeted while they slept.
Thames Valley Police are appealing for anyone who saw suspicious activity, or vehicles driving at speed in the area at the time, to contact them on 101, quoting reference 43250495177.
