Thames Valley Police has published the results of its Safer Streets Summer operation, revealing more than 1,300 arrests made across town and city centres during the campaign.
The force focused on reducing offences that impact busy public areas, including shoplifting, robbery and theft from individuals.
Across the summer, officers made 1,330 arrests and secured 95 positive outcomes for retail crime, anti-social behaviour and street crime. Thames Valley Police also carried out over 4,500 patrol activities, targeting crime hotspots and increasing visibility. In addition, the force undertook nearly 4,300 community and business engagements, strengthening relationships and gathering feedback on local concerns.
The force said the operation aimed to ensure that communities across the Thames Valley feel safe, with officers working closely with partners to address persistent issues and support victims.
To continue this work, Thames Valley Police has launched a follow-up initiative. The Winter of Action, running from 1 December to 31 January, will focus on seasonal challenges affecting town and city centres during the winter months and festive period.
The force is encouraging residents to share their priorities and concerns, stating that community feedback plays a key role in shaping future policing activity across the Thames Valley.
