Andy is the man who wakes you up on Saturdays and Sundays and keeps you up-to-speed with everything happening through the weekend here in Bucks.
Having worked on radio stations broadcasting to Bucks since the early 90s, he’s really proud to be a part of the Bucks Radio team. Andy believes truly local radio has an important part to play in local life, making a real difference when there’s an accident on the Bicester Road, when the snow starts to fall in Bierton, or when a family really needs help from the local community.
Andy started his career in Oxfordshire presenting very popular programmes on Fox FM throughout the 1990s. In 2001 he joined the Milestone Group where his initial role was launching new radio stations in places like Banbury, Leamington Spa and Andover. He also oversaw the output of satellite radio service Youth FM and was the Executive Producer of the National Chart Show “The Most Wanted”. He subsequently became the Group Programme Controller for the Milestone Group and was in charge of all the programmes on their seven stations around the Thames Valley, the Midlands and London, achieving some still unbeaten listening figures.
After this Andy took a role as the Regional Station Manager for Tindle Radio, running radio stations in Basingstoke, Newbury and Winchester.
Since 2008 he has run his own company providing support to radio stations both on air and behind the scenes. Over the last few years in addition to here in Buckinghamshire you could also have heard Andy on The Breeze across the south of England and in East Anglia, Jack FM in Reading, the BBC and Sam FM in Southampton and Bristol.
Outside radio Andy ran his local Scout Troop until a couple of years ago, which enabled him to be a big kid and do things like canoeing, jet skiing, quad biking, and caving – although caving in the latter years became something of a squeeze!
He also loves knocking up the odd culinary delight in the kitchen - which probably explains the expanding waistline.
You can catch Andy on Bucks Radio, Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7am. Why not drop him a line using the form below.
