A suspected World War Two grenade has been safety detonated after being found in Buckingham.
A group of magnet fishers made the discovery on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the grenade was found in the River Great Ouse near Station Road.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Aylesbury Vale told Bucks Radio: "It was believed to have been from the Second World War and had likely been in the river since then."
"We worked with the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) operators who conducted a controlled explosion in a nearby field."
"There was no risk to the wider public and we would like to thank the public for their understanding while we cordoned off a section of Chandos Park."
