A strip club could be demolished and turned into a block of flats.
Steamdown Property Ltd is back with fresh plans to bulldoze the historic White Horse pub in High Wycombe and build a three-storey apartment block that holds eight two-bedroom units with associated undercroft parking beneath.
The White Horse has been running for 150 years and has been a popular destination when it had striptease dancers for the last 35 years.
Previous plans to demolish the pub and build nine flats and office space were refused. A planning appeal to overturn the decision was dismissed in 2021.
Planners have gone back to the drawing board and have reduced the height, bulk, massing, and scale and redesigned the look of the proposed building to reflect a ‘more traditional aesthetic’.
Separate plans to convert the pub into a 13-bedroom house of multiple occupation were approved by planning officers. This was to be used as a “viable fallback” if the flats plan were refused.
Bucks planning officers are yet to decide on the fresh scheme.
