As 2026 began, midwives at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust were hard at work supporting families to welcome seven babies at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
The first baby of the day was a girl, born at 02:24, weighing just over 9lbs. The new parents said: “Our midwives were a massive part of our journey. Honestly, we couldn’t have done it without them. There were so many times I thought I was going to break, and they helped deliver the most precious thing!”
Michelle East, Director of Midwifery, said: “Starting the year with such special arrivals is truly heart-warming. Congratulations to all the families and best wishes for a healthy and happy 2026.”
Maternity service welcomed five new babies on Christmas Day at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
The first baby boy was Baby Adrian, born at 05:43, weighing 2660g.

Baby Yashfa was the first girl, born at 06:06, weighing 2890g.
