Cold weather sparks rise in emergency calls

Freezing weather has led to a sharp rise in emergency calls across the region.

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust says 999 calls are up almost twenty percent, causing longer waits for less serious cases.

Residents in Bucks are being urged to make their own way to hospital where possible and to use NHS 111 for urgent, non-emergency advice.
