Bucks born and bred author Hannah Moorcroft Jones has released her children's book called Stinkabelle and the Bog Snufflers.
Living in Great Missenden, Hannah found inspiration from very famous former resident... "I actually live just down the road from the Roald Dahl Museum, so just having it there in my face every day has helped to perhaps push me into following my dreams and making this happen, and I definitely think his influence does come through in my writing."
On a day dedicated to children's books old and new, Hannah knew it was important that children from all backgrounds can see themselves in her books. As the main character in her new book is from a mixed race background.
She says "Children's literature is definitely an area where BAME (Black, Asian, minority ethnic) characters are very much lacking. I wanted my book to feature a hero character from a mixed race background, without the story being directly relataed to race or diversity."
