The Chancellor of the Exchequer has appointed former Prime Minister Boris Johnson to be Steward and a Bailiff of the Three Hundreds of Chiltern in Buckinghamshire.
It is a historical position – established in the 17th century – which in modern times has been used to facilitate the resignations of MPs.
