Berryfields Medical Centre and Meadowcroft Surgery are planning to merge to create a single GP practice later this year.
|
They are citing the rising elderly population and the growth in long term illnesses like diabetes and asthma as some of the reasons for the merge, so they can absorb this increased workload. The merger is planned to take effect from 1 April 2022, when the practice will change its name to Berrycroft Community Health Centre (BCHC). Both surgeries will remain open after the merger, until the new site at Martin Dalby Way is ready. Then the existing buildings will close and staff will relocate to the new site. This change is expected to take place sometime before the end of summer 2022.
