Amersham Town Council shared the news in a social media post.
After the official presentation for the Royal Horticultural Society's Thames & Chilterns Bloom Regional Awards last night, Amersham was awarded Gold in the town category and was also crowned Best Town in the region.
Amersham as a whole also received the regional WOW (Visual Impact) award, with judges commenting that their tour included “many wows” throughout, with a standard rarely seen in public spaces. The Memorial Gardens were also given Gold, with Woodside Road Allotments also awarded 'Thriving'.
The Town Council said in their announcement the titles reflect "the huge amount of work that goes on across the town throughout the year".

“I would like to thank the Town Council team first and foremost for all their hard work in funding, coordinating and delivering the Bloom programme throughout the year, and our Bloom volunteers who work in partnership with the Council, supporting our efforts and giving so much of their time to help keep the town looking so good.
"I’d also like to thank the talented leaders of the 1st Chesham Bois Scout Group, and the many community groups, schools and local businesses who have supported our efforts. A particular thank you to Veolia, who once again have been fantastic supporters of Bloom.
"There are so many people who help make Amersham look its best, and these awards recognise everyone’s efforts. Thank you to everyone who has played their part.”
