The road is closed again this weekend (28/29 September) for HS2 work. Here's an update provided by Waddesdon and Stone Councilors*.
A brief list of points from Waddesdon
“Which part of the A41 is closed? “
The section of new road which leads from Waddesdon bears left and goes round the new roundabout and across the bridge to the second roundabout
“ Can I get to Aylesbury? "
Yes, you can via Quainton, down the willows, right turn to the new roundabout then down the new road to the HS2 roundabout at Fleet Marston
“ Can I get to Upper Winchendon? "
Follow the route to Aylesbury and when you get to the HS2 roundabout take the turn off to come back to the old crossroads ( which has been in place most of this week )
“Can I get to Bicester, Westcott or Ashendon? "
Leave the village as normal on the A41
“If I go to Aylesbury, how do I get back? "
In the same way, up the A41 to the Fleet Marston roundabout, take the new road to the roundabout, right turn up to Quainton, left turn onto Station Road and back to the village
OR
Take the A418 through stone, turn off at Cuddington, then go through Ashendon, Westcott and back on the A41.
“When will it all reopen?"
6 am Monday
“Is there anything else that could affect traffic over the weekend? "
The railway centre is holding a large bus event on Sunday which may mean that roads in and out of Quainton could be busier on Sunday morning and Sunday night as vehicles arrive and leave.
“When is the next closure?"
They are using the weekend of the 5th and 6th of October and closing under the same terms.
