Marsh Gibbon Horticultural Society Flower Festival

As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations the Marsh Gibbon Horticultural Society are organising a 'flower festival' on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September from 10-6pm. The event brings together our local clubs and societies promoting themselves through flowers. The clubs vary from the Marsh Mellows, our local choir, the handbell group, 'Crafty Gibbons' our village craft group and Beavers and the cricket club, along with many more! (25 in total - all from our village!) The event asks for donations which will be split between the society and St Mary's church of Marsh Gibbon, where the event will be held. The church, like many locally is struggling to make ends meet and is desperate for funds. It has no vicar at the moment as recruitment is ongoing and the fundraising efforts are being managed by the 'worship group' volunteering time to keep both church services and fundraising going. During the final hour of the festival, there will be a celebratory service, with the village choir and representatives of the clubs all taking part - starting with a glass of fizz and canapes (to help us sing louder!).
