The annual weigh in has been taking place at Whipsnade Zoo, with all creatures great and small having their vital statistics recorded. That's over 11,000 animals, including lemurs, bears and chameleons, being coaxed onto the scales. 11,000 animals step onto the scales for the UK’s largest Zoo’s Annual Weigh In. A huge scale operation has started at Whipsnade Zoo, as keepers began coaxing thousands of animals, including lemurs, bears and chameleons, onto the scales for the Zoo’s Annual Weigh. 

Richard joined them and here asks Zoo Keeper, Tim Savage, why they carry out an annual weigh in.
