A 32 year old woman from Aylesbury has been given a suspended sentence for misconduct at the prison she worked at.
Bernice Ivey of Eskdale Road was employed as a Senior Staff Nurse at The Aylesbury Young Offender Institution and entered into a personal relationship with a serving prisoner.
She had unwarranted repeated personal contact with the prisoner in the healthcare department at the prison, and didn't let anyone know the prisoner had a mobile phone that she was contacting them on.
After pleading guilty, Ivey was sentenced to 15 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years and ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid community work.
