A woman has died following a flat fire in Haddenham.
Emergency services rushed to Butte Furlong at just after 1:30am on Thursday.
Two appliances and crews from Thame, and one from Aylesbury attended, along with two officers.
Smoke was issuing from a flat, within a two storey-block, when they arrived.
The firefighters used:
- Six sets of breathing apparatus
- Two hose reel jets
- One main jet
- A positive pressure ventilation fan
The firefighters forced entry to the flat. They rescued one woman, and provided her with immediate emergency care, before passing her into the care of South Central Ambulance Service. Sadly, the woman died at the scene.
One man was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke, and also passed into the care of the ambulance service.
The incident was left in the hands of Thames Valley Police.
A Thames Valley Forensic Fire Investigation Officer has attended the scene and will work alongside our fire investigating officer, and Thames Valley Police Scene of Crimes Officers, to determine the cause of the fire.
