Aylesbury South PCSO’s Lee Abrahams and Rachel Matthews have won the Problem Solving Award 2022 at the Community Policing Awards.
Following the tragic murder of a young man in 2020, Lee and Rachel worked tirelessly with partner agencies towards creating a safer neighbourhood.
They set up the first knife amnesty bin in Thames Valley at the Southcourt Baptist Church, which has inspired the introduction of additional knife bins throughout TVP.
Lee and Rachel have worked alongside and aided the establishment of the charity ‘In This Together’ who assist in deterring young individuals from criminality, especially that of violence and knife crime.
In addition to this they have pioneered the installation of blood trauma kits into the local area and are working towards the opening of a local youth boxing club this month.
Superintendent Rebecca Mears added that she is ‘super proud of them’.
