Poundland are planning to make a come-back to the Cambridge Street site after leaving in 2015.
An empty store at an Aylesbury retail park could be filled with a shop which has already been on the site before.
Poundland have plans to move back to Aylesbury Shopping Park on Cambridge Street, filling the vacant Argos space.
The discount store opened there a few years ago, before leaving again and being replaced with Homesense.
Now a planning application has gone in to occupy the empty space.
The retailer says 25 to 30 jobs will be created.
Poundland does of course already have a site in the town centre, but it doesn't appear that this will be affected by the new opening.
Argos left Cambridge Street last summer to open as part of the new Sainsbury's on Gatehouse Road.
