Police ask for witnesses after forklift lifts and rams car into house

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an incident of criminal damage with intent to endanger life.

At around 8.35pm on Saturday officers were called to Wycombe Road, Studley Green by a member of the public.

It was reported that a man had used a JCB reach forklift truck to pick up a parked 4x4 vehicle, and then rammed the car into the caller’s property, causing considerable damage.

Luckily no one inside the property was injured. The 4x4 was left outside the property.

The man driving the forklift has then driven off through Booker Common, through New Road towards Handy Cross, and into the Turnpike Road area.

Officers have pursued and arrested a man on Oakridge Road.

It is thought during this journey several members of the public cars may have been damaged.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Bruce Wilson, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “This was an incident that has caused extensive damage to a property and it is lucky that no one was hurt.

“Additionally we believe that a number of cars have been damaged as a result of this incident.

“A man has been arrested and remains in custody and our investigation is ongoing.

“We can confirm that this was not a random incident and the owner of the house and the arrested man are known to each other.

“We are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward and would advise anyone who believes their vehicle has been damaged to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information can report online or by calling the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 43210479096.”
