Aylesbury Vale Police have opened the first knife amnesty bin in the Thames Valley area yesterday.
It's located on Penn Road, Aylesbury on the outside of the South Court Baptist Church. And is the first of its kind to be placed OUTSIDE of a Police Station.
The force hopes that having this facility in a public place will encourage more people to surrender their sharp/bladed articles.
The amnesty bin is totally anonymous and will be accessible for members of the public to dispose of knives and other bladed articles 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.
