The town's annual Mayor Making ceremony took place this evening (23/5).
The event at Aylesbury College saw Councillor Nidhi Mehta take the chains from Cllr Alan Sherwell, with Cllr Sherrilyn Bateman taking the role of Deputy Mayor.
During Cllr Sherwell’s mayoralty, he championed many local charities and organisations, while fundraising for PACE, the local charity supporting children with neurodisabilities. During his final speech as Mayor, he confirmed the charity will receive £9279 from his time in office.
Mayor Mehta will announce her chosen charity in the coming weeks.
